  • Comment: At this moment Sony has released a Reader 350 which is a touch version of this device; fyi.

I have read many reviews here, on this item, and the one point I want to stress. Not only do you have access to the Sony Bookstore, but several other stores as well, like Borders, which will function with this reader. Not to mention the seemingly unlimited supply of epub books available. Unlike kindle which is stuck with its specific format, and nook which focuses primarily on Barnes and Nobel. The Sony reader is much more open. I suppose they (Sony) learned their lesson with their mp3-player difficulties.

Most of the negative reviews here, based on book availability have really not researched the venues open to the Sony reader.

Oh and by the way I am a man and I own the "rose" colored reader. This happened because I got it at an insane price, less than half of what is currently being charged for it. Considering the comfort and ease of use and extreme portability, don't let me forget about the two week battery. This is a great item. The color is not disturbing to me at all and I thought it might be. It would be easily remedied however with the decorative skins I have found for it.

Nook and Kindle do not offer a user manipulatable organization of the books on your device, Sony does.

My only problem is the non-expandable memory.

For the price I paid however this is more than great. With its metalic outer shell it even feels stronger, sturdier than the nook or Kindle.

I have several books that I have yet to read on my device, making the need for wi-fi or 3G, virtually useless.

The page numbering system is alot more useful especially since you can go to a specific page so easily. The nook has the same numbering system but it is annoying having to use a drag bar to get to the right page.

  • Comment: I love my reader. I have as many books as I need without looking for a space to place them.

The only drawback is that it freezes up and I have to reset it other then that it is great.
